The Blue Plaque Podcast

Blue Plaque Pod cover featuring host Kassia St Clair

Made by DBM is proud to provide editing, mixing and social media promo video services for the new podcast “The Blue Plaque Pod”.

In each episode, author and cultural historian Kassia St Clair chats with a guest about a blue plaque recipient who means something special to them.

Series 1 highlights include best-selling novelist Val McDermid talking about “the crime writers’ crime writer” Josephine Tey. Broadcaster (and owner/commentator of very good dogs Olive and Mabel) Andrew Cotter discusses explorer Edward Whymper. And TikTok style influencer Edgy Albert on professional dandy Beau Brummell.

We actually made a pilot episode in 2023 but in a different format. Kassia took some time out to rethink and rework it, and it’s resulted in an even better podcast. Sometimes stepping away and returning with fresh perspectives is exactly what’s needed.

It’s been a pleasure working with Kassia on this series and we’re already looking forward to collaborating again on the next.

As the interviews for the podcast were recorded remotely (using Riverside, see link below), the audio quality of the guests varied considerably depending on the microphone they used. Made by DBM employed AI-assisted audio enhancement tools to dramatically improve the sound and get it as close as possible to studio quality.

As well as providing audio production services for the podcast, Made by DBM also created short teaser videos for each episode to share on social media. You can see one here.

The Blue Plaque Pod is out now on all the usual podcast providers and also here.
